The Emerald Coast Chapter of the AWS held their March tasting at Pam Davey’s beautiful waterfront home on Sunday afternoon, March 23. Dear friend Bobby Likis offered to pick up Margie and I and drive us out the highway to Pam’s! The extended drive there turned into a “tour” of Bobby’s Mercedes Maybach!! What a thrill, Margie and I served ourselves a delicious Shramsburg Champagne and learned how to operate all devices of comfort in the back seat, adjusting the seats to recline, opening the sunroof screen with a wave of the hand. Absolutely incredible technology!
Then to the wines! I want to take this opportunity to share with the leadership of the Emerald Coast Chapter of AWS my appreciate for the presentation of more mainstream wines. In this events, wines from Bordeaux! Thank you Tari Wyant for an excellent presentation.
The Beef Bourguignon was most tasty and a great accompaniment to the numerous exquisite Bordeaux’s we all shared. A delighting afternoon bayside!
Upon returning home we realized none of us had eaten a great deal at the AWS tasting so we invited Bobby in for some leftovers. We had braised some beef short ribs and has leftover for three. To go with that I opened a 2011 Bucephalus Napa red blend from Black Stallion Vineyards that lasted barely through the meal!
A wonderful day with good friends! Life is good!
