On Sunday, September 15, Scot and Joanna Abel hosted our American Wine Society Emerald Coast chapter meeting at their spacious home! Scot expertly presented the seven Sicilian wines to the delight of all! Scot pulled a little known Sicilian red for the mystery wine and, low and behold if one of our members didn’t bring a different year bottle of the same producer! The only white to make the cut was the 2022 Terra di Nonno Vermentino, but the rest were nice reds: a 2019 Alerancia Catarratto, Grillo and Inzolia blend, a 2022 Nostru Nerello Mascalese 100% Nerello Mascalese, a 2021 Sasserello Rosso, Cab, Merlot, Syrah, Sangiovese blend, a 2021 w/o 100% Frappato, a 2020 Planeta Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOGC Nero D’Avola and Frapatto blend, and a 2022 Nostro Posto 100% Nero D’Avola. Good wines and good eats! Kudos to all!
