I stopped by the EastHill Bottle Shop last week and was rummaging for some big whites to taste, whites other than Chardonnay. Todd Vucovich recommended a 2021 Nisia Old Vines Verdejo from the Rueda region of Spain.
I usually buy two bottles of a new wine I am tasting. I drink the first one to get a feel for it, for any changes in the glass, contemplate an appropriate pairing, then drink the second bottle with that food pairing.
This is an instance where I will need to pick up another bottle and try it with some shrimp scampi! Very, delightfully, interesting!
