I have wanted to take a cooking class at Pensacola Cooks for some time. I finally found one to my liking: a couples class on Caribbean cooking. Insofar as Margie had previously committed to the Symphony that night, I attended alone. There were seven couples and me.
We prepared three courses. The Chef went through the prep process for us to watch and then we were paired up in groups of four. Only one person could do the prep at any given time as each group had only one cutting board and one knife.
The cooking took place on two induction cooking devices which was pretty neat. Unfortunately, we had problems with one of our cooktops and ended up overcooking the chicken while waiting for the sauce to catch up. The portions were small but tasty. We received written recipes for each course and ate the courses we had prepared. We were told to bring our own wine, which most of the group did. It was as much a social event and anything else and a good time was had by all.
Especially for the venue as the bill of fare was $100 per couple.
