Margie and I are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and acquaintances, many of whom we hosted at our Mid-summer Wine Burn Off this past Saturday night! To all that attended, thank you for being a part of the group that contributed to our successful event. You get a bunch of wonderful people together and everyone has a great time! To attest to the effectiveness of the sortie, these are the empty bottles!
It was a smashing success except for this poor puppy! Thank God it was empty at the time of its untimely demise. It would have been a tragedy for this wonderful event to have resulted in any form of wasted wine!
The heavy hors d’oeuvres included mini quiches, spanakopita, chicken croissants, smoked hickory chicken wings, something Kaj Sorensen brought, the name of which I cannot remember but acknowledge were extremely delicious, and bite size Italian meat balls mixed in with Alfredo sauce and sautéed white onion with pepper and salt added to offset the added onion. I spent most of Sunday washing wine glasses, a certain sign of a successful food and wine event! Looking forward to organizing such fun events for Fork and Cork. Details to follow.
