Margie and I attended the Viva La France celebration dinner at Jackson’s on Thursday, July 13, one day ahead of the real date! The wild mushroom soup was to die for and accompanied by some bubbly!
The apple, Roquefort and bacon salad was delightful and paired well with the Bordeaux Blanc. The seared scallops were cooked to perfection but I question the accompanying Beaujolais Nouveau at this late date. The tournedos Rossini were delicious and went well with the Cote du Rhone. The finale was a Peach Clafoutis and rounded out the evening perfectly! The presentation and staff was in the traditional Jackson’s manner. Kudos to Irv Miller, Jean-Pierre and the entire kitchen and wait staff. Another fitting tribute to our French Friends here and abroad!
