Best Selection of Wines To Date!!
Category: Wine Tastings

We only had six sign up for this event, so it was relocated to our secondary location, our home! I thawed out a standing rib roast to roast and and was going to cut it up into bite size palette cleanser morsels. When we only had six expected, I threw in a couple of sides and made it a sit down dinner tasting. Wow! Good stuff, if I say so myself! This was the best collection of great wines since we began this effort. All were excellent. I failed to read the small print on one wine. It was 80% Mourvedre and only 3% Shiraz! It was the lightest of the bunch but still an nice pour. We tasted five wines from $12 to $30 and the consensus winner was the Elderton. The Saldo came in second. I purchased three bottles each of the wines, so if there is sufficient interest I will reschedule for a later date and do this one again. Much thanks to Doug Cappa at ABC Wines for his help in selecting four of our five wines. Being familiar with the Elderton, I wanted to include it, but could not find any locally. So I went online and found a case.
